At Shirley Manor Primary Academy, we are committed to ensuring that every child continues to learn and make progress, even when they are unable to attend school. Our remote learning provision provides pupils with access to learning activities, resources and guidance to support their education at home.
We aim to make learning engaging, accessible and inclusive, while maintaining links between pupils, teachers and families. Parents and carers play an important role in supporting children with their learning, and we are here to offer guidance and support whenever needed.
- Our remote learning will assist both parents & carers to support their child’s learning and provide resources to help close gaps.
- Provide an education for those who cannot come to school because they are self-isolating, but are well enough to access school work.
- Provide an education for all should we be in a lockdown
Work and activities will be uploaded onto Class Dojo for pupils to complete. This will allow staff to remain contact with children. In addition pupils can access work through the National Oak Academy

Communication between home and school is pivotal for the success of your child. Your child’s class teacher will keep in contact with you and your child to ensure they are confident with any work that has been provided and their login details.
We recognise that some pupils, for example some pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), may not be able to access remote education without support from adults at home. We acknowledge the difficulties this may place on families, and we will work with parents and carers to support those pupils in the following ways:
Class teachers will work with families to deliver remote education for pupils with SEND on an individual basis.
Early Years children will be given age appropriate tasks and activities.
