Welcome to our school website and thank you for taking an interest in our school. Shirley Manor Primary first became an Academy in 2014 and joined the Family of Learning Trust in January 2023.
Family of Learning Trust
We are a very special school that likes to celebrate success at every level. The life of the school is driven by enthusiasm and a desire to achieve. We aim to bring learning alive, making it exciting and stimulating. We want to give our children a thirst for learning that continues with them throughout their future school experiences and lives.
An essential ingredient for this to happen is teamwork. we view education as a joint venture, involving everyone – children, parents, staff, Governors and the wider community. We hope that we will be able to depend on your co-operation and support in this partnership, hoping that together we can provide the best for every child.
We are proud to be an inclusive school, bringing together children from a wide range of economic, social and ethnic backgrounds; creating an exciting and diverse learning community.
In the context of this, We will teach them the difference between right and wrong, how to sort out problems and that everybody is deserving of respect.
We are confident that with a talented team of both teaching and non-teaching staff we can provide a smooth transition for any child joining the school and strive to meet the needs of all.
If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Year 2 have been creating watercolour portraits of King Charles III in the style of Axel Scheffler.
Take a look at some of our fantastic pieces of artwork!🎨🖌
Year 6 have done us proud on their visit to Electric Bowl and Beech Hill school for their SATs reward. They have enjoyed both experiences and many of the Beech Hill staff commented on how polite and well-behaved they were.
Well done Year 6! 🎳 ⚽️ @beechhillsch @family
Year 2 have been busy putting the final touches on their art project, inspired by the Great Fire of London! 🔥🎨
The children created silhouette artwork using mixed media techniques. They explored colour, techniques, layering and contrast to bring the fiery skylines to life.
Today we held a Sun Safety event. We learnt how to take care of ourselves and our skin on a sunny day.
We enjoyed an ice-cream and some sun related activities.
There was a prize draw, the winners of the summer bundle was the Rafeeq family.
All whom attended got free suncream.
Eyes down for a full house 👀 Thank you to the parents and children who came along to our Bingo Night. We have never heard such a reaction when 6 and 7, 67 was called 🤣 A fun evening had by all 😃
